As we know Android Go program was announced by Google at I/O in May 2017. Mobile World Congress brings lots of new smartphones, tablets, and smartwatch in its event held in Barcelona. Google also has announced the release of Android Go smartphone in MWC 2018 event.

Last year Google has introduced Android Oreo (Go Edition) phones which comes with an optimized version of Android Oreo. Basically, Android Go smartphone is made for a low-end device which consists of 1GB RAM or less. Now Google has revealed that we could see the first set of Android Oreo (Go edition) phones starting next week. That means the phone will run an optimized version of Android Oreo and it will launch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, which will start on February 26.

Indian telecom operator Jio is working on an Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone. The Reliance Jio is collaborating with chip maker MediaTek to build this smartphone, revealed by TL Lee who is a Business Unit Head at MediaTek. The Lee didn’t share any specification about the new Jio Go edition phone.
TL Lee said in the statement, “In addition to their own 4G feature phone, Jio is working very hard with not only MediaTek but also Google for smartphone devices…entry level Android Go.”

Google has announced its Android Go program so that manufacturers can provide the latest version of Android for low-cost phones with 512MB to 1GB RAM. The company announced his program back in may and said that it would be available from early 2018. As per the report, Google has partnered with various Indian smartphone manufacturers to roll out Android Go phones from this month onwards. In India, Micromax is all set to launch its first Android Go smartphone. The price of the phone will be around Rs. 2000.
