Motorola launched two smartphone Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play in India at the event held in New Delhi. The company launch Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play in India roughly a month after the phones launched in India. However, Moto G6 is exclusively available via Amazon whereas the Moto G6 Play will be available only via Flipkart. Also, Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play are the successors to last year’s Moto G5 series smartphone.
The company claims, the Moto G6 will be a mid-range smartphone which offers pure Android experience just like previous Moto phones. Moto G6 comes with 18:9 aspect ratio display along with dual rear camera setup. Also Above Android among the first one to leak the Moto G6 price in India.
Shashank Sharma, Executive Director, Motorola, Asia Pacific, says, “Moto G is our best-selling series in India, and across the world,’ he says. ‘Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play are the next-generation smartphones in our popular Moto G series.’ He’s talking about the journey of the Motorola brand over the past 90 years. Motorola says their brand awareness in Latin America is close to 100 percent. In India, we have a brand awareness of close to 90 percent.”

Design & Build:
Talking about design, the back of Moto G6 is made with 3D glass which gives a shiny and premium look to the phone. The rear edge of Moto G6 is curved which makes more comfortable to fit in your palm. This design is already seen on OnePlus 6 and Honor 10 smartphone. Like all other trending smartphones, Moto G6 comes with 18:9 aspect ratio which is more than enough to get the best experience while watching videos or playing games.
However, the Moto logo on the back is not dimpled anymore, which is seen on most of the previous moto phones. Although the dual rear camera remains in a circular manner on the back of the device. The fingerprint scanner is placed at the front button of the display along with Motorola branding.
Also, at the bottom of Moto G6, there is 3.5mm headphone jack along with USB-C slot for charging. In addition, the device is water repellent which comes with a p2i coating to protect your smartphone from Water.
The device sports 5.7-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display which is coupled with 18:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. On the front, the device has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which protects your smartphone from damage. The device offers decent colors and brightness which works pretty good in daylight condition. Also, the device has a bigger screen that offers good viewing experience while watching HD videos and playing games.
Moving towards the camera, it has dual 12MP + 5MP rear camera setup. The 12MP primary sensor comes with f/1.8 aperture whereas the 5MP secondary sensor comes with f/2.2 aperture. The company says, the camera quickly focuses on a particular object and also the low light performance is improved. The rear camera also supports Portrait mode along with Blur effect while taking photos.
On the front, the device has a 16MP selfie camera which comes with f/2.2 aperture. It can record full HD videos at 30 fps. Like other moto smartphones, its camera feature includes continuous shooting mode, HDR, phase detection autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, 2x optical zoom, and panorama.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm SDM450 Snapdragon 450 which is coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB / 4GB of RAM. With this processor, users can get smooth and flawless experience even under most demanding situations. One can play decent games with Adreno 506 GPU. Also, at the same time, you can play games and use multiple apps without facing any lag issue on your Moto G6 smartphone.
Platform & Storage:
The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo version out of the box. Talking about the storage, the device has two storage variants one which has 32GB and other has 64GB. Further, the storage can be expanded up to 256GB using dedicated microSD card slot.
Battery & Connectivity:
The device packs non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery which can last throughout the day with normal to moderate usage. As Moto G6 has dual SIM option which supports 4G Volte. Talking about other connectivity, it includes 802.11 b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
Price & Availability:
The company launched two variants of Moto G6 smartphone, one which has 3GB + 32GB Internal Storage that is priced at Rs. 13,999. Whereas the other has 4GB RAM + 64GB Internal Storage which is priced at Rs. 15,999. The sale for Moto G6 will go from midnight today and will be exclusively available on Amazon India or Moto Hub Stores. The phone will available in Indigo color option.
Moving towards the launch offers, the company is offering Rs. 1,200 cashback on purchase via Paytm Mall at Moto Hubs. However, this offer is valid till June 6. Also, the company is giving 1 year Amazon Prime Membership with Airtel Postpaid plan of Rs. 499 or above. On purchase via Amazon India, users can get Rs. 2,000 cashback for Airtel prepaid customers. In addition, customers with HDFC Bank Debit or Credit card can directly get Rs. 1,250 discount.
