LG G4 Unveiled : Specifications Overview

After months of rumors, leaks and speculations on the next flagship from the Korean giant, LG finally took the covers off the new device in its arsenal: the LG G4. With true blue flagship specifications, powerful features and a design that reminds one of the uber luxury phones in the market, prima facie, the LG G4 truly raises the bar for most smartphones out there.

In this article I’ll be taking a look at all that the G4 has to offer in terms of specifications, and will also be giving a brief overview of the noteworthy features which constitute the new flagship from LG.

First off, and most notable of all features, is the overall design. LG has covered the whole nine yards to bring out a handsomely crafted device. The phone has a slight curve to its back, very reminiscent of the LG G Flex 2, and yet the ergonomics are more similar to the G3.

The phone will launch in three choices of rear finishes: there’s a caramel coloured ‘vegetable tanned’ leather back, a white ceramic coated one and a black textured plastic ‘Metallic Craft’ look.

The display on the G4 is actually a first for the mobile industry. It constitutes a Quantum Dot LCD panel – which we earlier saw in CES2015 – which brings out more vivid and brighter colours to the display. The resolution is an expected 2K Quad HD resolution, and the screen size is 5.5″.

This is where the company is making all heads turn. The LG G4 offers a 16 Megapixel main camera with a mouth watering f/1.8 aperture and is capable of recording 4K videos. The front camera is an 8 Megapixel one and LG has thrown in some interesting software features too, which makes taking multiple selfies more efficient with the inclusion of various gestures.

The main camera is capable of shooting in manual mode. There’s also a RAW shooting mode and a color spectrum sensor, all of which ensure that the images come out brighter than ever.

The LG G4 has a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor (Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 & quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53) running the show, and is actually the first device in the world to use this processor. Memory wise, it has an ample 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded via Micro SD Cards. The battery is a removable 3000mAh one and the G4 runs Lollipop out of the box.
