LG G Flex 2 with curved display launched in India

While the LG G4 was unveiled very recently, another beast from the Korean manufacturer was showcased back in CES 2015 in the form of the successor to the original G Flex. The LG G Flex 2 carries with it the very same design factor that set its predecessor apart from other devices in the market, while at the same time packing top of the line flagship grade specifications.

The LG G Flex 2 was just launched in India, at a price point of Rs. 54,990/- . In this article, I’ll be talking about all that’s there to this mighty device.

The most obvious aspect of the G Flex 2 has to be the design. The phone is curved inwards, and the company claims that it is curved in four areas: the front screen curved at 700R; the rear cover curved at 650R; edges curved at 550R and the top and bottom edges curved at 400R. This also means that the glass on the screen is curved too, and according to LG, this offers a more natural viewing experience.

The back cover, much like that of the G Flex, is self healing, so it can jump back to its original state after being scratched at with a key, for instance. While the back cover is removable, the battery isn’t.

The G Flex 2 has a 5.5 inch Curved P-OLED capacitive touchscreen, that offers a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 and a PPI of 403. The company claims that the curvature of the phone lends to a more immersive experience.

This is where the phone shows its true mettle. Running the show on the G Flex 2 is a powerful Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 (Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57) processor, which is a top of the line 64-bit processor.

The phone comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 2 TB via Micro SD cards.

The rear shooter is a 13 MP one, while the front one is a 2.1 MP.

The device houses a 3000mAh battery.

The G Flex 2, like most recent launches, will run Android Lollipop right out of the box.

The LG G Flex 2 is priced at Rs. 54,990/-, which although places it against many flagships in the same price bracket, does not really make it stand up to them in terms of on-paper specs. It will be available on Flipkart in Red and Titan Silver colours.
