WhatsApp , the world largest mobile messaging company, makes a plan to keep the messaging service free for Indian user for some more time, says Neeraj Arora, Vice-President for business development at WhatsApp. Its a really great news for us that WhatsApp To Remain Free In India
Just few days back, Neeraj Arora himself announced that mobile messenger service WhatsApp’s user base in India has grown to 70 million active users, which is over a tenth of its global users. Arora, an alumnus of IIT-Delhi and ISB Hyderabad, said WhatsApp will continue to hold a distinct identity even after the takeover by Facebook and will not get merged with the social networking giant.
WhatsApp To Remain Free In India.
Generally, WhatsApp have a policy in which user can use the service freely for first year and then after he have pay $1 per year as yearly fee to use this free messaging service. Neeraj Arora found it very correctly that over 10% of WhatsApp user base is from India and the credit card penetration in India is extremely low. Many such factors have forces the Facebook owned Messaging service i.e. WhatsApp To Remain Free In India for some more time.
The low penetration of credit card / debit card is the most important reason that the Indian E-Commerce site have came up with the new option called Cash-On-Delivery (COD).
If WhatsApp don’t keep its service free in India, then there is huge risk that the 70 million active user can migrate to another free messaging service like Hike Messenger and many other, who do not ask for even single penny.
