In the latest Beta update of WhatsApp Messenger, they have removed the feature of saving profile pictures of the other users. WhatsApp is updating the Beta App almost every day and many new features and changes are being tested every day. The most recent change of removing the option to save the profile picture was seen in Android Beta version 2.19.143.
After this update, the user will not be able to save the profile picture of any individual user but it can save the profile picture of any group in WhatsApp. This was also confirmed by the tweet from @WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp has removed the possibility to save profile pictures in latest Android beta updates and WhatsApp Business beta for iOS 2.19.60.5.
You can save group icons. I don’t know why they decided to remove this feature (screenshots exist) https://t.co/0JBszV2xdX — WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) May 15, 2019
WhatsApp generally provides a sharing button, from where we can save the photo to gallery as well as share it on other platforms too. But now, it only works with the group profile picture and does not show any button for the individual profile picture. Although, you can still save the profile picture of any individual by taking the screenshot.
There are lots of other features that are being introduced to WhatsApp Beta daily such as Night Mode, a new layout for many emojis, getting stickers in the WhatsApp message preview and much more.
