Truecaller Now allows Users to Back Up and Restore Contacts to Google Drive

Truecaller launched a new backup and restore feature for its Android users. The new feature allows users to backup and restores all your contacts, call history, block list and setting to Google Drive. The company says that backup feature will help users when they want to change their smartphones, get new SIM cards, reset handsets, or even re-install the app. Truecaller said the backup feature will be available on Android smartphones in the “next couple of days.”

The company says, “With just a click of a button, Truecaller will backup all your contacts, call history, call logs, block list and settings preferences to a file that will be stored on your Google Drive.”

With the next Truecaller app update, users who don’t have a Google Drive account will get a prompt to create one. Also, users have to set-up the backup for their account. Users are able to select how often the app would backup data, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or never. If you don’t want the application then you can permanently delete truecaller account easily.

For restoring data, users have to give access to the Google Drive account for connecting to Truecaller. After Google Drive access, users can restore all their last saved data. Additionally, the app also released another feature called Truecaller Contacts. This feature saves every number a user call on, sends SMS to, or make transactions with. It allows users to get numbers from months back, even though they were not saved.

Additionally, Truecaller has announced the rollout of several new features for its Android app last week. The feature includes Simple copy OTP and improvements to flash messages. With Simple Copy OTP, it has created a shortcut for its users. It provides the users, a one-tap way to copy the OTP directly from the notification received on their handset. Also, it improves the flash messaging feature by providing a more polished design.
