Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have announced a hike in their regular tariff plans. The revised tariff plans for Airtel and Vodafone customers will be applicable and come into effect from December 3 while Jio customers will be allowed to continue to use existing tariff plans until December 6.

Since the rollout of Reliance Jio, it has been the dominant party in the telecom arena. Jio’s free and cheap schemes for its subscribers had forced the leading telecom companies to lower the rates of their tariff plans. As a result, the companies are now in massive dues as Jio is inching closer to 500 million subscriber base.

During the third quarter, both Airtel and Vodafone have recorded a quarterly loss of Rs 50,921 crore and Rs 28,450 crores, respectively. Therefore revised tariff plans will be a way to ensure sustainability in the Indian telecom market.

Jio’s announcement came after the announcement of Airtel and Vodafone. These two companies are also expected to increase their tariffs by 40% and it will be in effect from December 3.

Reliance Jio has not revealed its revised tariff plans yet. But, the company has announced a hike in the mobile tariffs up to 40%and it will be applicable from December 6. With the increase in the tariff plans, the company has also assured that it will offer 300% more benefits.

“Jio will be introducing new ‘All in One’ plans with unlimited voice and data. These plans will have a fair usage policy for calls to other mobile networks. Although, the new plans will be priced up to 40 percent higher, staying true to its promise of being ‘customer-first’, Jio customers will get up to 300 percent more benefits,” Reliance Jio said in a statement.

Airtel has released its revised tariff plans and it will be applicable from December 3. The new plans have more Airtel Thanks benefits for the customers.

The base tariff plan of Airtel starts from Rs 19 with unlimited calling, 100 SMS and 150MB data. Moving on to Rs 49 plan, users will get a talk time of Rs 38.52 and 100MB data with a validity of 28 days. The Rs 129 plan which offered unlimited calls, 300 SMS and 2GB data with Airtel Xstream, Wynk and Hello Tunes benefits has been revised to Rs 148 with a validity of 28 days. The annual plan of Rs 998 that offered unlimited calls, 3600 SMS and 12GB data has been revised to Rs 1498 with 24GB data and additional benefits. Similarly, the Rs 1,699 annual plan that offered unlimited calls, 100 SMS/day and 1.5GB data per day will now cost Rs 2,398 with a validity of 365 days.

Vodafone-Idea Revised Tariff Plans

Vodafone Revised Tariff Plans

Unlike Airtel, Vodafone-Idea is not going to offer additional benefits with its revised tariff plans. Vodafone has also brought a hike in the existing tariff plans and it has introduced combo vouchers for the users.

With the revised plans, Vodafone is offering two annual packs with 365 days validity. The first one is priced at Rs 1,499 and offers unlimited calls with 24GB data and 3,600 SMS followed by Rs 2,399 plan that gives 1.5GB data per day along with 100 SMS/day. Vodafone’s unlimited plans with 84 days validity and unlimited calling start at Rs 379 for 6GB data and 1000 SMS followed by Rs 599 plan, which offers 1.5GB data per day and Rs 699 plan giving 2GB data per day along with 100 SMS/day. In case users run out of data, Vodafone-Idea offers combo vouchers of Rs 49 and Rs 79 with a talk time of Rs 38 and Rs 64, respectively.
