Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 675 back in 2018 and it has been very popular with devices such as Redmi Note 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy A70s, and many more. The company has now announced the successor of the SD 675 which is Snapdragon 678. Its main area of focus is on camera and connectivity while not giving up on battery consumption.
The Snapdragon 678 is built on 11nm chipset which has an octa-core CPU with LLP process. The official press release states that the chipset brings performance upgrades over the Snapdragon 675. It has Kyro 460 CPU which is clocked at 2.2 GHz unlike Snapdragon 675 which is clocked at 2.0 GHz. The GPU on the SD 678 is 612 GPU which is same as that we have seen before but Qualcomm states that it has increased the performance on the chipset.
Specifications of Snapdragon 678
The chipset supports up to FHD+ display with a max resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels and 10-bit colour depth.
