Ola is known for India’s largest cab booking services. As on Thursday, Ola has announced In-Trip Insurance programme for its users across India. This program covers up to Rs. 5 lakh in some cases which include loss of baggage or laptops, missed flights, accidental medical expense, ambulance transportation cover, and more. The company has launched this insurance program named as Chalo Befikar for all riders and it will be available for all categories such as auto, e-rickshaw, Taxi and all including cabs.
The Ola company has partnered with Acko General Insurance to launch this insurance programme over 110 cities in the country. Under this Chalo Befikar program, a user can book an Ola ride can select in-trip insurance cover. Then the users have to pay the premium for this insurance program which requires Rs. 1 for inter-city travel, Rs. 10 for Ola rentals service and Rs. 15 for Ola Outstation.
Vishal Kaul, Chief Operating Officer, Ola said in the statement, “We are thrilled to introduce in-trip insurance for our customers under the ‘Chalo Befikar’ insurance program. Just for INR 1, Ola customers can avail an insurance policy of INR 5 lakh which will also provide cover for missed flights, loss of baggage, loss of a laptop, emergency hotel requirements, and many more. The launch of this initiative, a first of its kind in India, reiterates our resolve of building customer-first solutions.”
Ola’s Chalo Befikar insurance program will roll out to all the cities in the coming weeks. The company says that this program is optional and can purchase via the Ola app. Using Ola mobile app and Acko’s website, users can claim this in-trip insurance program.
How to Avail Chalo Befikar Insurance Program:
- First, download and install Ola app from Play Store.
- Move towards the Menu of the app and click on Profile.
- Now under profile, click on Ride Insurance.
- You will see “Secure my Rides” option, then you just need to toggle “On” this button.
- That’s it, you have successfully availed this insurance program for your future rides.
Also, Ola is planning to partner with ICICI Lombard General Insurance which will be live in coming months. In addition, IRCTC announced the partnership with Ola which will allow users to book an Ola cab using its website and app.
