Instagram Might Be Working On Voice and Video Calling Features

Instagram is a popular social platform, where you can share your memories with the help of photos. From last year, Facebook-owned Instagram has been continuously gaining more features. Now Instagram might be working on Voice and Video Calling Features which will be soon available for all users.

Instagram has shown some mysterious files that are pointing towards the new Voice and Video Calling Features. This feature will surely compete with apps such as Snapchat which has already faced criticism for its UI design.

As per the report by TechCrunch, the Instagram app includes a button icons for Voice Call and Video Call functionality. However, Instagram has not given any official confirmation regarding this new feature. But you can see the unreleased feature within the app code.

Also, XDA Developers said that the spotted some strings within the app which are directly defining the Video Chat feature. Back in January, the Video Call button was spotted while testing internally.

The strings clearly indicate that Instagram will have video chat option in its future update which will be similar to Snapchat. These strings will show a popup message of either the video chat has ended or the user has left the chat.

Earlier in December, Instagram has gained its alpha channel, where users can test the new feature. The alpha channel is just similar to WABetaInfo where the company first test the new feature. You can download and install alpha channel directly from here.

In addition to this feature, Instagram has recently introduced Type Mode feature to its stories section. Also, users can Archive and Highlight Instagram stories on their profile. Moreover, Instagram has a userbase of over 800 million users, with 500 million daily active users.

However, it is unclear when Instagram will launch this Voice and Video Calling Features. If you are seeing this feature on your device then let us know in our comment section below.
