Google Maps have the feature of indoor maps available in seventeen countries before today, and few hours ago Google have launched the indoor maps for the India too. This Indoor maps will help the users to check and locate various locations inside the places like malls and museums.
“Using indoor maps, users will find it easy to locate stores, especially in an unfamiliar shopping mall or when they plan a visit to a museum like Salar jung in Hyderabad. With Indoor Google Maps in India, people can access detailed floor plans for 75 popular indoor venues with a few easy swipes,” Google India Director and Product Manager (Maps) Suren Ruhela told PTI.
These indoor maps from Google maps can be accessed on desktop, Android and even iOS version of Google Maps. Just the user need to do is zoom in to the location and he/she will find the whole indoor map for it. Once the indoor maps is available then the user can select the floor to surf and locate places on.
For now, Google Maps are offering the indoor maps for only 75 location which are airports, shopping malls, large retail stores, and transit stations. Many indoor maps are expected to arrive soon for the India. Some users have reported that the parking area are not spotted in the indoor maps which are available for various other countries. So soon or later it will be also available for the India too.
Places from Mumbai like Fun Republic, Growel Mall, Inorbit mall Malad, Inorbit mall Vashi, Korum Mall, Palladium Mall, R City have got the indoor maps and the venues like Ansal Plaza, Khel Gaon, Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj, DLF Emporio Mall, Vasant Kunj, DLF Place Saket, DLF Promenade Mall, MGF Metropolitan Saket, MGF Square City, Pacific Mall (Tagore garden), Select City Walk Saket, National Gallery Of Modern Art got the indoor maps in the capital city, Delhi.
Overall there are 75 indoor maps added into the Google Maps which cover 22 cities of the India. Mr. Suren Ruhela has also said that the list will be expanded in the coming days.
