Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Is the Next AR Game From Pokemon Go Studio
Making the summer sensation Pokemon Go in 2016, Niantic Labs decided to make a new game name as Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. It is an another augmented reality (AR) game just like the previous one and it will arrive this game in the market around 2018.
Niantic startup within Google in 2010. The company first product was Field Trip, an Android App which gives information about a cool stuff around you. It jumped in the AR gaming with the release of Ingress in 2013 but it wasn’t a success. After Launching Pokemon Go in 2016 it becomes a one of the successful company. In July this year, it was revealed that the Pokemon Go had been downloaded over 750 million times globally.
Niantic Founder and CEO John Hanke said in the announcement that they are incredibly excited to announce this next step in the evolution of AR mobile entertainment. With Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players that have been dreaming of becoming real-life Wizards will finally get the chance to experience J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
John Hanke said that this game will allow players to learn spells. You can fight and discover the magical beasts in real-world neighborhoods, like how Pokemon Go did for Pokemon. Niantic is working with Warner Bros. Warner Bros has an Interactive Entertainment and Portkey games and now San Francisco-based development team of WB games is working on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
Wizards Unite will even benefit from the extensive location database built by Ingress which is Niantic first AR game. Similar, Pokemon Go will allow you to use real-world Locations as part of Harry Potter experience. Niantic has to be more specific with Harry Potter of how Rowling has created back stories for every region she has written about.
