Google is rolling out “Hey Google” for Google Assistant

Google started rolling out “Hey Google” to a lot of smartphones running with Google Assistant. Usually, when you use Google assistant to search or command something, You would usually say “OK Google” and talk to the Assistant. Initially, the “Hey Google” functionality was available to only some small set of people back in October as beta, and it was in testing phase.


Now all the devices which run on Google assistant are said to be getting this new update over Google Play store. Even the Google Home can recognize the Hot word. Google is asking users to retrain the voice recognition with either the new phrase or with the existing old one. You can find it and change the settings manually to Google and by clicking search and voice, You can setup the assistant to teach the new command. The Voice assistant can even be triggered when the phone is turned off on supported devices, Where the processor should support the voice awareness listening mode.

Google Assistant is a personal voice assistant developed by Google which can do almost anything with just Voice similar to Apple iPhone Siri. You could Interact with Google assistant just through the help of Keyboard also. It is Available for Both Android and iOS Platforms. It can able to Control and Automate things at home, natural language processing, voice recognition and do Google translation and all of it being very useful and being more Assistive for the Users. This Voice Recognition supported Google Assistant helps you to Translate anything from Chinese to English quickly, Buy Movie tickets, Find a Nearby Restaurant which serves that Specific Chinese Chopsuey. Schedule an Appointment, Set an Alarm, Search the Internet, Adjust settings like increasing the brightness or Silent down your phone by reducing Volume and Helps you to Navigate there Via Google Maps.

Google Assistant also came Shipped with many products like the Google Home, Android Wear 2.0 Software Update, On your Phone and The Android Wear Watches. The Assistant Replaces the Google Voice which found on Platforms like the Android TV.

Google Assistant Availability

Google assistant was even made available to tablets with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android Lollipop phones which were announced last week. Recently on Google for India Event, Google Announced the Release of Google Assistant to JioPhones. It exclusively was made available to Jio Phone even though it doesn’t run on the Android Operating system. JioPhone already comes with their own “Hello Jio” Voice Assistant. It works well which is for Opening Apps, Calling your Friends and Family, Send Texts to “John” and “Shreya” or Even do a Simple Google search through the Voice assistant. But it had its limitations. It also Expected to Support Multiple Regional Languages soon.


Google assistant is now available to over 80 Percent of Devices. It runs on Operating systems like KaiOS which is the JioPhone, Android, Android Wear 2.0, and iOS Operating systems. Google Assistant will be offering more interactive services in the future with just the voice when Voice recognition and Machine learning Improves.
