Google I/O 2018 Expectations: Android P, Google Home, etc

Google I/O is an event for developers where they bring new technical talks, software, hardware and much more. The Google I/O 2018 event will be held from 8 May to 10 May 2018 at Shoreline Amphitheatre which is located in California.


However, many users love to watch Google I/O event. In this event, developers get a chance to announce their new product, services, apps and more. Here is a list of everything, you want to expect at Google IO 2018 event.

What to expect from Google I/O 2018

1. Android P:

It seems that Google will announce the latest Android P operating system in Google I/O 2018 event. Earlier in a month of March, Google has already released a first developer preview for Android P. Now Google is looking for a P-related name to follow the Android Oreo version. The new Android P version will come with privacy concerns option which can block the access to microphone and camera from the running background apps.

2. Google Home:

Google Home is a smart speaker which is loaded with Google Assistant. As Google home was launched at last year Google I/O 2017 event. However, Google will not announce new hardware but it will get improvements in its software. Google Home will come with a bunch of new features which includes hands-free calling, push-notification, Spotify, SoundCloud, and Deezer integrations, and more. Recently Google has launched Home Max and Homi Mini speakers.

3. Android TV dongle:

At an event, Google will launch Android TV player which can be controlled by your voice. The company is planning to launch its own Android TV gadgets. As per the listing, it comes with Amilogic S905X processor which is coupled with 2GB of RAM. Also, it has 8GB of onboard storage which can be used for storing your games and apps. The listing also reveals that dongle uses HDMI 2.0 support and comes with USB cables. Cable can directly connect to your TV which has 5V/2A power supply.

4. Google Assistant:

At the I/O 2018 event, Google will announce the improved version of Google Assistant. The company will expand Google Assistant with an support of total 30 different languages which includes Norwegian, Thai, Dutch and more. Also, the new Google Assistant will come with impressive multilingual support which will allow you to speak in English, French or German. Additionally, Google is giving a wireless option to the Assistant that will give quicker access to their users.

5. Wear OS:

Back in 2014, Google has launched its Android Wear OS smartwatch. Two weeks earlier Google has decided to rename Android Wear to Wear OS. However, all the existing Android Wear smartwatches will know as Wear OS watches. Now Google will release first Wear OS beta update at an I/O 2018 event.
