Essential Phone Halo Gray Variant Launched with Built-In Amazon Alexa Assistant

As we know the Essential phone was launched in May 2017. The phones come with a huge 5.71-inch display with a resolution of 1312 x 2560 pixels. The company announced a new Halo Gray variant of this Essential phone. Earlier this week, the smartphone has released its three color variants which include Copper Black, Ocean Depths, and Stellar Gray.


Halo Gray variant looks very similar to a Stellar model which was introduced earlier. But the new Halo Gray variant comes with built-in Amazon Alexa Assistant. According to the company, the new Halo Gray variant is now available for pre-orders via and will go on sale from 21 February.

The company announced on Twitter, “In case three new Essential Phone colors weren’t enough, today we’re unveiling Halo Gray, the first Essential Phone to come with Alexa built-in. Halo Gray is available for pre-order exclusively from Amazon starting today,”

Coming towards the pricing of an Essential phone, the new color variant – Copper Black, Ocean Depths, and Stellar Gray will cost around Rs. 38,500. While the new Halo Gray variant with built-in Amazon Alexa will cost around Rs. 28,900. While the Older color variant Black Moon and Pure White, both cost around Rs. 32,100. However, the Halo Gray variant and Stellar variant comes with an identical specification. As per the report, Essential Phone shipped less than 90K units in first six months after launching this smartphone.

The Essential Phone feature an edge-to-edge display and a modular system which allows users to attach accessories such as a 360-degree camera. The device sports a 5.7-inch display with 19:10 aspect ratio. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection with a resolution of 1312 x 2560 pixels. The handset is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 835 octa-core (2.45GHz Quad + 1.9GHz Quad) processor with Adreno 540 GPU. The internal storage of the phone is 128GB coupled with 4GB of RAM.

It has 13MP dual camera setup at the back with RGB and monochrome capabilities in each lens. It also supports 4K video with hybrid autofocus, phase detection mode, and IR Laser Assist Focus. At the front, it has 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. Also, front camera support 4K video. The phone has 3040mAh battery with fast charging support. It can easily last for a single day with heavy use.  It includes connectivity option such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, and GPS.
