Asus is ready with its upcoming flagship smartphone which is known to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset to power the smartphone. The launch date of Asus ROG Phone 5 was revealed by the company on the popular social media platform Weibo. The flagship phone from Asus will be making its debut in China on 10 March and also will be launching in Tapei, Berlin, and New York as is stated on the page dedicated for the launch on Asus ROG Phone 5.
Asus was one of the companies that confirmed to be working on the smartphone with Snapdragon 888 when the chipset made its debut in December earlier. The Asus ROG Phone 5 is the successor of Asus ROG Phone 3 and not the Asus ROG Phone 4 because number 4 is regarded as a bad omen in some of the regions. However, there is no official statement from the company yet regarding this.
Asus will be continuing its partnership with the gaming giant Tencent for he upcoming flagship which means that the phone could come with a dedicated gaming experience. There are also some rumors which state that the Asus ROG Phone 5 will come with matrix display at the back which will be for Tencent gaming compatibility.
Asus ROG Phone 5 Specifications
The Asus ROG Phone 5 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and could come with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone is also known be backed by a massive battery of 6000 mAh and could come with 120 Hz refresh rate for the display. As for the camera, we will see the same horizontal alignment with triple camera setup on the back and a glass aluminium body design. The phone is also rumoured to have an extra button through which the user can activate gaming mode on the smartphone.
