Android Messages makes users to easily communicate with anyone by using SMS, MMS and more. You can stay in touch with friends and family, send group texts, and share your favorite pictures, videos, audio messages. Android Messages app is rolling out two new feature in its updated 2.7 version.
Android Message updated its two feature of Money transfers and integrated Duo video calling. Also, there will be a reduction in the size of APK with no significant changes to the interface.
Features of Android Messages:
This app support money transfers using Google Wallet account. It can be accessed by going to the attachment panel and then scroll down to select Send money or Request money. Coming towards Duo integration, it is rolling out in the phase and might take some time to reach all. Also, it will be available in the selected market where the wallet is officially accessible.
The Duo integration was expected to arrive in version 2.6 of Android Messages app, but it seems it was delayed to version 2.7 which has just been released.
You just need to run on Android 7.0 Nougat or above for using this Duo. Even with this integration, both you and the person you want to video call from this app, need to have Duo installed and well configured. It will only make a shortcut in the Messaging app conversation which will help you to trigger the call.
Duo integration is in a staged roll-out and is being slowly enabled for all users from the server side. It might take some time before reaching to all the users. Google added Rich Communication Services (RCS) which support dual-SIM phones and reduced the size of the application.
Additionally, Google has released the new version of YouTube Go application in the Play store. It is available on Google Play Store, which is present for beta users. It allows users to watch and download videos with a limited data or slow connection. Youtube Go is currently only available in India. You can download this Android Messages app from Google Play Store. Do try this new feature and let us know about your feedback in our comment section below.
