Hutch gears up big time as it launches the first of its “multi-year, multi-game” F1 titles, under its official license for the series.

F1 Manager being a free-to-play mobile title, (now available for Android) offers more than what you expect. As the name implies, it’s a management sim rather than a full racing title. The player acts as the team manager, working with car development and taking race decisions at the same time, making the set up feel more interesting than ever. Featuring all of the official circuits, teams and drivers from the 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship, it’s not something you would want to miss out on.

Create your own F1 team, with your own livery. Hire drivers for your car, starting out with those from the lower end of the grid — like Lance Stroll and Alexander Albon.

You can play head-to-head battles with other players in a real-time, live race. It’s all well-framed here. Moreover, the team manager can select the tire strategy for each driver, manage pit stops, and tell their pilots to speed up to gain places or slow down to save fuel. Safety cars and weather can play a role in races too.

Depending on the race results, you would be able to advance to higher leagues and championships. You would have available upgrades to both your driver and car, with gearbox, engine, brakes, and front and rear aerodynamics all having seven grades of improvements. Over time you would be able to hire better drivers as well, like Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, and Lewis Hamilton — and upgrade them too!

There is, of course, a loot crate mechanism which delivers your upgrades and winnings. Should you prefer a shortcut you would be able to buy these directly, or watch some in-app ads to gain access to a crate every few hours.
