Google introduced a new Datally app, which is designed to help Android smartphone users to stay under the limit of mobile data packages. Datally app launched in many developing countries. Google group product manager Josh Woodward told Reuters in an interview, Datally is a new service, which lists data consumption by an app and allows users to shut off data transmission by an app of their choice. This app also provides a nearby directory of Wi-Fi networks that includes user commentary on their quality.
Google’s Next Billion Users division, offering this latest app for an internal effort. This effort will make internet service more accessible to people in countries where technology is not as fast or affordable as in the United States or Western Europe.
Caesar Sengupta, Vice President, Next Billion Users, Google, in a blog post said, “Mobile data is expensive for many people around the world. And what’s worse, it’s hard to figure out where it all goes. That’s why we built Datally, an app that helps you to control, save more and do more with your data. We’ve been testing Datally in the Philippines for the past few months, and people are saving up to 30 percent on their data.”
How Datally app Help Users?
Datally app will show the list of application which uses more amount of data on your phone. The app also shows the timeline of data used by each app. It will suggest methods to reduce the data usage according to user activity. In addition, it will show the list of nearby Wi-Fi so that you can connect to it instead of using your mobile data.
In the app, there is a button at the top which helps users to stop all the background data usage. It means that only the current app which is onscreen will get the data and it will stop the data consumption for all the background apps which actually works even after closing it. If a user doesn’t want to block the app from using background data, Datally app lets you control each app separately. The app gives notification pop-ups which tell the users, how much data the running app is using.
Previously Google has launched a peer-to-peer payment app and a low version of YouTube. Most of the features in your smartphone are hidden in the setting app, but now Datally app can bring this feature in front. If you are someone who constantly worried about your data getting over, then this app is best for you. You can download this Datally app
