How To Take A ScreenShot on Android Wear Devices

Android Wear devices have been receiving the Android Wear Lollipop Update 5.0.1 and almost all the wearable have got the taste of it. With lost of improved features of Android Wear Lollipop Update such as notification management, screen brightness with few more, the update also make it simple to take a screenshot on Android Wear Devices like Moto 360, LG G Watch R, Sony Smartwatch 3, Asus Zenwatch and few more.

Once the smartwatch receives the Lollipop update, it became very simple to take a screenshot on Android Wear Devices. Before you need to have some knowledge of ADB commands and access to your computer too. But now you just need the updated software and developer options enable, that’s it.

First Step is to enable the developer option enable on the smartphone which is paired with your wearable. There are few steps to enable this option in the setting menu, they are :

  • Go to the Settings.
  • Scroll down and tap on About.
  • Find the “Build Number” listing at the bottom; tap on it for seven times.
  • Developer Options will then show up on the Settings app, just above About option.

So now, the developer option of your smartphone is enable and you don’t need to tweak anything in it. Now just simply go to the Android Wear App and follow the below steps.

Steps to Take A ScreenShot on Android Wear Devices

  • Open the Android Wear App in your smartphone.
  • Tap on the three dot menu button, up in the right corner.
  • Tap on “Take Wearable ScreenShot”.
  • Yuppie, You are done.


The moment when you tap on the “Take Wearable ScreenShot” option, it will show a notification to acknowledge that the screen shot is taken and its ready to share. The Screenshot will not be saved in your phone and it will be deleted once you clear the notification. So to save the screenshot it must to share it somewhere or the other and then save it.
